Multimedia guide for the 4th Saxon State Exhibition

Under the catchy title "BOOM", the federal state of Saxony has realised a large-scale state exhibition under the coordination of the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden. In the central exhibition at Audi-Bau in Zwickau and at five other locations, the state's changeful industrial culture and history is told with multimedia guides from tonwelt.

From 11.07.2020 to 31.12.2020 the 4th Saxon State Exhibition will take place at a total of six locations in Saxony. The central exhibition in the Audi-Bau Zwickau was developed and realised under the direction of the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden and presents the history of 500 years of industrial culture of the Free State of Saxony in the unique industrial building. "How do people live in a European cultural area that has been shaped by work in trade, commerce and industry for over five hundred years? The central exhibition in the Audi-Bau Zwickau looks back on the beginnings and golden age of Saxony's industrialisation and ventures a look into the future of today's Free State". says the press release of the organizers. But how can these changing times, from industrialisation to planned economy and the social market economy, be communicated in an appealing and informative way for all visitor groups? The creators of the "Boom" regional exhibition are relying on multimedia guides from tonwelt to do this, using the latest technological possibilities to convey knowledge to the visitors.

The multimedia guide as an interactive information tool

The combination of hearing and seeing is still the best and most effective way of presenting information and facts in a visitor group-oriented and barrier-free manner for individual knowledge transfer. In order to expand the media dramaturgy, video stations or interactive highlights are also available, which deepen what has been conveyed or tell a story using other media. To maintain a continuous visitor experience and, for example, to make video content intuitively and barrier-free accessible, tonwelt has perfected the automatic triggering of tracks and the multilingual synchronisation of video sound tracks. The multimedia guide thus becomes an interactive information tool that can be used quickly and easily by all visitor groups. With the tonwelt supraGuide MULTI, visitors can listen to the audio tracks of the individual exhibits as well as automatically to the audio track of the video presentations.
