The western part of the Auvergne region is filled with lakes and volcanoes. In the middle of the France's largest nature preserve, just a few kilometers from Clermont-Ferrand, lies the theme park Vulcania. Since 2002 the volcano park has been using anexciting, interactive approach to bring science to life. Vulcania speaks to all the senses, whether it is with a virtual journey to the centre of a volcano or a look into the 35-meter high 'Great Crater' – one of the main attractions. In the cinema, a 3-D film and dynamic seats allow visitors to truly experience the wonder of the formation and eruption of a volcano.
Since 19 March 2008, non-Francophones have been able to fully experience the park with audioguides from tonwelt. Available in six languages, the tours provide a wealth of information about volcanoes, their history and their formation. The new high-tech sound system in the cinema guarantees that guests from all corners of the globe will enjoy an earth-shattering film experience.
