Besides the German Design Award, the supraGuideeco and the supraGuidemulti received a Red Dot Award at a major celebration in Essen.
In this year’s competition, a top-class jury of international experts considered 4,815 products. Awards were only given to designs which were convincing both in terms of quality and innovation.
In its statement the jury said: “The high-quality appearance of the supraGuidemulti is underlined by its robust construction designed for constant use, its practical extras and its modern look.“
The jury was particularly impressed by the contemporary design of the supraGuideeco, which places great importance on both functionality and aesthetic quality.
"We are very proud of the awards our new audio and multimedia guides have won this year," Managing Director of tonwelt, Gürsan Acar, said. "We regard the many prizes for our supraGuides as recognition of the innovative and barrier free operating concept we are using to set new benchmarks in this field."
The prize-winning audio guides will be on show for a year at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen. With some 2,000 exhibits on display, the museum houses the world’s largest exhibition of contemporary design. All winning pieces can also be viewed in the Red Dot Online Exhibition.
Last February the supraGuidemulti received the renowned iF Design Award. From this October, the supraGuidemulti will be on display with other winners from the categories “public design”, “buildings” and “industry” as part of the iF Design Exhibition in Hamburg’s HafenCity.
