FC Barcelona – more than a club

What a club! What a stadium! What a success story! In 1899 when a group of men gathered to play soccer in response to an advertisement, none of them imagined that the “Futbol Club Barcelona” was going to write history. Today ”Barça“ is the club with the most members world-wide, and Europe’s most successful team, according to UEFA club ranking lists. The players are worshipped as gods by their supporters. The team plays its home games in the famous Camp Nou stadium – with a capacity of 99,000, Europe’s largest football stadium.

FC Barcelona is a club of superlatives, so it is no surprise that it also has its own museum, which is one of the most popular in Spain. Since June 2010 the museum has 1,000 personalguides in the accustomed tonwelt quality to inform visitors to Camp Nou about the exhibition. The history of the legendary club and the stories of its stars are presented in exciting exhibits, including jerseys, balls, cups and film clips of historic games that will warm the hearts of football fans. Guests can also visit the stadium next door, taking the route through the players’ tunnel from the changing rooms to the pitch. Goosebumps are guaranteed. Interviews, original sound documents and music make the audio guided tour an experience to remember.

As tonwelt specializes in foreign-language audio productions, this tour has been produced in Catalan, Spanish, German, English, French, Italian, Dutch, Russian and Japanese – in each case with experienced native-language translators and voice artists. The project was realized in close collaboration with our local partner, Fabulor Comunicacions. By the end of your tour – at the latest – you will find yourself agreeing with FC Barcelona’s slogan: “Barça is more than a club!”
