| Two-hundred thousand years of history under one roof – the permanent exhibition at the Rheinisches Landesmuseum in Trier has been redesigned! An audioguide from tonwelt accompanies visitors as they explore the 4,000-square-metre exhibition and delve deep into the past. The tour passes through the Stone Age and Celtic culture, through the thriving Roman city of Trier and onwards to the Frankish era, the Renaissance and the Baroque period up until the reign of the last Elector of Trier. |

Archaeological excavations were first conducted in Trier in 1807. The finds amassed through these and later digs formed the basis for the collection of the Rheinisches Landesmuseum, which was founded in 1877.
There are stone tools, articles from the graves of Celtic nobility, the famous tomb relief from Neumagen, impressive testaments to the splendour of the Roman era and the last surviving stained glass from Trier’s cathedral – and around 3,000 other items, including some real stunners. The modern presentation of the diverse collection, together with an audio guided tour from tonwelt, is a sure bet to bring history to life.
